Privacy policy

Cold Crime: Murder Mystery is a fictional detective game for iPhone. Last updated 19 September 2026.

No account, no sign-in. The app needs no account, e-mail address or login. It never asks for your name, contacts, photos, location, microphone or camera, and it never reads anything from your real device.

What stays on your device. Your progress — which cases you started, which questions you answered, how many hints you have left and whether you own a subscription — is stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes it.

Answer checking. When you type an answer, the app first checks it on your device. If that check does not recognise your wording, the app sends the question, the correct answer and the words you typed to our server, where a language model decides whether they mean the same thing, so that a correct answer phrased differently is still accepted. These requests carry no name, no account, no device identifier and no advertising ID, so we cannot tell which player sent them. The text you typed is kept in a lookup table so the same wording is recognised instantly next time. This uses Supabase for hosting and OpenAI for the model. Please do not type personal information into the answer box.

Purchases. Subscriptions and hint packs are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details; Apple tells the app only whether a purchase is active.

No advertising, no tracking. The app shows no ads of any kind. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no tracking across apps or websites, and no data is sold or shared with data brokers.

Children. The app is written for an adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal data from anyone, regardless of age.

Fiction. Every phone, message, photo, person and case in the app is invented. No case depicts a real event.

Your rights. Because we hold no personal data, there is nothing tied to you to export or delete. If you want an answer you typed removed from the lookup table, write to us and we will remove it.
