Play a cold case with friends, each on your own phone

A room holds up to eight detectives. Everyone reads the same file on their own screen, sees what the others have opened, votes in secret, and the host reveals. Works at one table or across three time zones.

How a room works

  1. Host creates the room. Press play on any case, choose Create a room, enter a first name. You get a six-letter code and an invite link.
  2. Friends join. They open the same case, choose Join and type the code, or tap the link. Up to eight people including the host. No accounts, no app.
  3. Everyone reads. Next to each document you see the initials of the players who have opened it. Split the folders, then swap.
  4. Everyone votes in secret. Each player presses Accuse on their own phone. Nobody sees the tally.
  5. Host reveals. The votes appear side by side, the case closes for the whole room at once, and the solution file opens on every screen.

Who pays

Only the host needs access to a case. The free case costs nobody anything. For paid cases, a host who owns the file, or has the yearly plan, can invite seven guests who pay nothing. A room can be reused: close it, create a new one, invite a different group.

Same table or remote

At a table, the room replaces passing one folder around: eight phones, one timeline on paper in the middle. On a video call, agree on fifteen minutes of silent reading, then talk. The reading marks tell you who has covered which folder without asking.

House rules that make it better

No spoilers by design. Votes are hidden until the reveal, so the player who is sure cannot steer the others. The case closes for everyone at the same moment.
